Alright folks, I'm back on my grind. I had to take some time off, two weeks, to move. But now it's back to business. And since we're talking business let me get strait to the point. A large portion of the reason why I even do this blog is to give people the chance to give me feedback on my work. I want people to say, "I liked this one" or 'You're a hack!" I just want to encourage everyone to take just a second and let me know what they think. If you think that I need to put the camera down and pick up a new hobby then say so. Once again, thank you for putting up with my rant and we now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

Check this out. I spent some time at a few car lots and had a good time. I will most likely have and update on this to add more. Enjoy.

Murse

OK, the other night I was watching this reality show called True Beauty. They get these suckers on the show and have them go through model challenges and say they are going to pick one that is the best. On this show they tell them that they have to choose one thing they cannot live without to go on a trip. One guy chooses his art pencils, a woman a hair curler, and so on. This one dude says, first thing, "I wonder if I can take my purse?" He goes on to talk about how it carries all the things he needs and then comes the name murse. This is man purse. What the hell? Do you keep man lipstick in your man purse? It was crazy. They just kept going on and on about the man purse. Anyway the judges tell him no way it's more that one thing. So he rats out the artist because he has more than one pencil. The artist had already had his item accepted so I understand why he was upset. he tells Mr. Murse, "You know that was kind of a Bi*ch a** move you just pulled." To Mr. Murse, I'd say he hit it right on the head. You know fashion is fashion but lets not blur gender lines. Maybe I'm not being open but on this one I'm just not going to be. There will be no man purses, no man skirts, no man bra's or or panties. Have your bag man, but you need to come up with a better name for it. And just so it's not mistaken for a purse, don't get the one with the fake Louis Vuitton print! No Dooney bags man. Please! If we got to take it back to fannie packs then do what you got to do bro. Just stop it with the man purse. Don't get it twisted. If you Murse has a designer name, a thin strap to make it easier to carry and you paid more that you shoes for it. It is a purse! And you need to be man enough to call it that.

check out this guy's man purse story. I laughed for a week strait.

Contraversy

Man I'm not going to build this up for you. I have a good friend that is a musician and this is his song. I wanted to help and this my vision with his work. It is what it is, simply visuals to illustrate the song. I'm not trying to change the world with this video...just putting my two cents in.

No subject

You know as many people that I have to work with I never have enough subjects. It was time and no one was around. I had to turn the camera on myself. It was Friday, I didn't have no job, and I didn't have sh*t to do.

Day at the park

This day the kids had been in the house all day. I remember looking out the window thinking "How nice, those kids are outside just playing their little hearts out." Then I realized my kids would like to do that too. So we swooped down to the park. It was the magic hour. Just enough time to get some good shots and some good playing in . Check it out.

Barber Shop

No, it's not Ice Cube's new joint. Just practice. Always have to be in search of inspiration. It could be in the form of a beautiful sunset or as simple as a sharp pair of clippers ready to fade you up. I try to make a subject out of most anything. Check out the slideshow.

Armatures keep doing it till they get it right. Professionals do it so much they can't get it wrong.

D Town Stand Up!

I live in Dallas and I wish people were aware of the incredible pool of talent in this city. We have a number of signed and unsigned artist that make this a great city to enjoy music. Because we a are a huge market of course we have businesses to support all types of media outlets. This was a clip I found, yeah it's old, of one of the conferences held hear in Dallas.

Big up Headkrack! Keep doing your thang mayne.

READ a B-O-O-K!

I was late on this one. A friend put me on to it. It got played on BET...good thing or not? There was a big controversy about whether kids were ready for satire like this. Take a look and see what you think

Now here are were a lot of talks about not only the content of the video but the placement. Should this have played during peak times when kids were more likely to watch? Take a look.

Meet the creators and see what they have to say about their work and the attention it has drawn.

My take, it's a good work. I'm a parent and I believe that we in this country has to put the power back in the hands of parents. I would not let my kids watch 106 and Park on their own at all. The powers that be are about making money and they are not going to make music with my kids in mind. It's my job to decide and monitor what my children see and hear. Consider the messages in every or most hip hop videos contain. Materialism, alcoholism, drug use, misogyny, and self destruction are the meat and potato of the images being played on not only MTV, BET, VH1 and any other outlet that plays mainstream music. *All the channels mentioned are a part of the same company, Viacom. I feel like if parents did their jobs then this video would not even exist. The point was to offset the messages that are kids are already hearing. A work offering another option and I applaud BET for showing it on air. My own brother, I think said it best. The music that makes the most offers bad solutions to bad situations. This was pointed out may times in the animated series on Comedy Central, The Boondocks. The creator is not a fan of BET. What say you?

I'm in the House

Who is J McClure? He's the unknown soldier. The man behind the camera. Whether it's photography or film I'm always looking to do the best for my client. I work with artists, I work with businesses, I work! Tell me your dream, we'll make it happen! I just wanted to share, with those who know me and those who don't, a little of myself. Here is humor, the thoughts, and the madness that is J McClure.
